BIBS prove too strong as Whyte’s debut goal is overshadowed
Player of the Match James KnightCameron Whyte marked his debut with a goal, but his memorable moment was ultimately overshadowed by an impressive BIBS performance as they proved too strong for NON BIBS.
James Knight controlled proceedings from the middle of the park, setting the tempo and helping BIBS produce a free-flowing attacking display. Dylan Masson was clinical from the penalty spot, while the pick of the goals came from Eoin Smith, who unleashed a remarkable low strike from the edge of his own box that flew into the bottom-left corner. The game could have taken an ugly turn at one point after a horror challenge from BIBS' Lewis Fraser on Jonathan Tiran, however, cooler heads prevailed and no further disciplinary action was taken.
NON BIBS continued to battle despite the scoreline, and Andrew Stoddart gave them something to celebrate with a late consolation. However, BIBS had already done enough to secure a convincing victory on a night when their movement, creativity and finishing proved decisive.
